Let's Start at the Beginning

It's a very good place to start ...

Welcome to Drinks With Andy! The story begins a few years back when I decided to get a new hobby - mixology. And what a hobby it is! Although I personally feel as though it became official last Christmas when I was gifted my new Drinks With Andy sign, and where it clearly states it was established in 2020. (I mean who else didn't drink their way with 2020?!)

What is Drinks With Andy?

As an amateur mixologist, I like to play around with different types of alcohol. Every drink starts with one of the basics - bourbon, gin, tequila, whiskey - and then I get creative with syrups, liqueurs, aperitifs, and so on.

Sometimes my drinks land really well - like the Jack Frost from Day 8 of the 25 Days of Christmas Cocktails, and other times, they need some tweaking. Certain flavors aren't my favorite and I may be creating based on what the wife is craving. Happy wife, happy life, you know?

Just know that I will always try to have fun with it, and I don't take myself or Drinks With Andy too seriously. It is a hobby after all.

Looking Ahead - What's in Store for Drinks With Andy

This blog was a gift from my daughter with a little help from her mother - who also happens to be in marketing. The goal is to bring my IG game to the world wide web and share some more behind the scenes, inspiration, and gives me a bigger platform to socialize!

You'll find recipes, musings, and learnings. I'll share tips and tricks, and definitely will showcase some of my inspirations. Mrs. DWA and I love to try new restaurants in town, and thankfully St. Louis is full of many. More often than not, we start our dinners with a cocktail, and I'll be sure to let you know when we find something special.
